Ingredients:
1/2 cup warmed or melted Nut or Seed Butter (I chose sunflower butter, but you can do almond butter, cashew, macadamia nut, pistachio, peanut, etc your favorite)
1/3 cup melted Coconut Oil
Optional Add ons:
Coconut Chips
Cacao Nibs
Cacao powder
Cayenne for spice
Chia Seeds
Goji Berries
Celtic or Himalayan Salt
Recipe: Use a spoon to mix together the melted coconut oil and nut or seed butter onto sheet of aluminum foil. Option to top with cacao nibs, chia seeds and coconut chips or any of your favorites and place in freezer for at least 20 minutes. Break apart and enjoy! Super easy, delicious snack when you are craving a sweet treat without the guilt.
P.S. I place the foil on a large plate so it doesn't melt off the edges when I place it in the freezer. Also, the barks will melt at room temperature so if you don't eat them right away and want to save more for later then place it back in the fridge or freezer so it keeps its shape.
This recipe was one of my favorites when I did the 8 Week Sugar Free program by Sarah Wilson, which I highly recommend if you want to jump start your system and recalibrate your taste buds from sugar and cravings. It was much more enjoyable than any other cleanse I have done as she guides you step by step how to gradually ease into the transition instead of giving everything up right away. This aspect of it made me want to stick with it long after the cleanse. Plus, I took away so many great habits like cooking at home for most meals (which I hated before, but grew to actually like) as well as delicious replacements for sugar like her 9 c's including: chia, coconut oil, coconut meat, cacao, chai, cinnamon, cheese, coffee, chicken. I noticed my taste buds come back to life and learned about what flavors I actually crave naturally which was shocking. After the cleanse, my taste buds changed so much that I could not eat certain foods I use to love because of the hidden sugars I could now easily detect. If you have any questions about this cleanse or want to see if its right for you let me know or you can learn more about it here: Sarah Wilson 8 Week Program.
